4/25/2021 Report

It was where you were today. Some spots had great bugs and fish, some had bugs no fish and some had nothing. Some days are better bopping around. The boat can help and sometimes hurt, remember that. I’ve never seen a boat drive back upstream. Here are a few from today.

Where and when was the problem today. Very weird day. Lots of wind. We had sun early but didn’t seem to matter. Some people were hero’s and some zeros. Hatch is lasting about 2-5pm right now on average. Here are some from today.

4/21/2021 Fishing Report – Hendricksons and Snow!

Since last Friday we have had great bugs around the system. The past two days the Hendricksons have really taken off in most areas. The water is low and the fishing pressure has been high due to the ability to enter anywhere on foot. The past two days we’ve had rising fish from 2-5 and they are consistently eating Hendrickson, quills, BWO’s and caddis.

The snow today has thrown a wrench into the plans but this cold front should be gone by the weekend. We hope the bugs and fish are still as happy as they have been the past five days.

Landing Chris’ Fish

The photos below are guide Chris Dever from yesterday. Him and I snuck out together in the afternoon after we finished our chores getting camp ready for the season.

Currently Hatching

Blue Wing Olives – Size 16-18

Stone Flies – Size 12-18

Blue Quill – Size 16

Quill Gordon – Size 14

Hendrickson – Size 12-16

Caddis – Size 14-18

Water Levels – I ran into JC Clark friend and fellow angler. We both agree that with some solid rain storms and a few inches of rain and the system will be flush with water again. The reservoirs are full so any rain we get will go straight to the river!

4/19/2021 Upper Delaware Fishing Report

Today we had an overcast day with an annoying NW wind all day. We did not have the amount of fish rising as we did yesterday. Big fish were feeding however after an hour long hatch the heads slowly stoped popping up. A fish could be taken here or there but not like yesterday.

We landed fish on all methods. Streamer, nymph and dry. They enjoyed the nymph early, drys mid afternoon during the short hatch and streamers on the way out. Wasn’t a blow your socks off day but there were chances at some sizable fish on dries. Good fish were landed all around the system this weekend. Also, yes it’s true the Hendricksons are being seen around the system. Not just ones and twos. There’s been spurts here and there. Fingers crossed.

4/17/2021 First Blanket Hatch of Season

This report will be short. Fish taken on every river on dries today. From noon until dark we had targets. Lots of 14-16 inch fish. Olives and Paraleps were the bug of choice for the fish. We fed them multiple patterns in the 14-18 range. Big number day for dries, lost two great fish…landed lots of solids.
